Whether an all-you-can-read membership beats buying what you read
Six questions about how you read. It answers on the shape of the membership against the shape of your reading — not on money, which it neither shows nor guesses. Buying what you read is one of its answers.
What this tool will not do
- It will not show you prices, and it will not work out a break-even. Both would need an amount for the membership and an amount per title, and amounts are not stated here — the current numbers live on the official page.
- It will not tell you how many books you would have to read to come out ahead. There is no published figure for what one reader's borrowing costs the provider, and a title count would not answer the question anyway.
- It will not check whether the books you want are in the catalogue. It has no title-level data, asks you for none, and does not guess.
- It will not treat the catalogue's advertised size as settled: Amazon states two different figures for it on the same page, and this tool repeats neither as fact.
- It will not name a different membership as your answer. Where the shape here is wrong for you, it says so and stops — that decision belongs to a different question.
- It will not recommend a membership when one is not warranted. Reading nothing, needing to own everything, reading only occasionally, and listening rather than reading are all answers that lead to no recommendation — and in that case it shows you no offer at all.
